90 Days. This large fruit can be oval, teardrop, and lots of shapes in between. Nearly-black flesh is tender and so sweet we highly recommend trying it raw! Also excellent when baked or roasted, and is often used in pickling in its native Japan where it was originally collected at a local market. Traditionally grown in the Mitoyo and Kanonji areas, it's one of the best-tasting eggplants we have tried!

Growing Tips: Start indoors in bright light 8-12 weeks before last frost date. Heat mat helps to warm soil and speed germination. Setting out larger transplants helps to fight pest pressure.
